7 Stunning Pallet Wall Designs

Pallet Wall Designs || Home Tree Atlas

Pallets projects are popular because they are budget friendly. In my mood board post Home Decor Ideas: Using Pallets you can see all sorts of home projects that use pallets: from small projects such as decor pieces to large projects such as building a couch or a bed. You can even create a wall out of pallets. Here are some pallet wall design ideas to get you inspired.

For Storage

Pallet walls are usually built to create charm and a rustic feel in a room. But a pallet wall can also be created to add custom storage. Check out the storage wall in picture (1). This can be done in a home office, by the front door to hang up coats, in the kitchen to hang pots and pans, or in the bedroom as a make shift closet.

Add Color

A darker pallet wall looks more luxurious. So why not go ahead and stain the wood before putting it up. Staining creates a uniform, distressed and weathered look – just like in pictures (2) and (3).

Or how about mixing pallet wood with other reclaimed wood – just like in picture (4). A few of the planks have been painted to add a pop of color.

Backsplash and Angled Pallets

Pallets can be used to create a backsplash in the kitchen or the bathroom. You can see how Circa Dee created their kitchen backsplash seen in picture (5) here.

For a more interesting wall design, how about creating an angled pallet wall design (6). It is a little bit harder, because you’ll have to cut the pieces to angles instead of simple strait cuts. But it adds another level to the design.

Garden Wall

Pallets can be used to create a simple garden wall, which you can hang planters from. Picture (7) shows an indoor vertical planter that has been made out of a pallet.

The Overall Style of a Room

Creating a pallet wall will dictate the style of your room. Because of the rustic nature of the wood, you’ll want to think about adding rustic pieces in the room to create a uniformed look. Like using a rustic or wooden table, and vintage lighting/antique.

A Loft Apartment Bachelor Pad

Bachelor Pad Loft

This would be a dream bachelor pad for a lot of guys. An open planned loft apartment, with an artistic and rustic design style. With a few touches of vintage charm.

Russian design firm Nordes left everything from the ceilings, brick walls and flooring exposed and bare adding to the rustic, industrial, and masculine style. You can never go wrong with a plush leather chair. But check out industrial kitchen table – what a showstopper.

Rustic Bathroom Ideas and Decor Tips

Rustic Bathroom Ideas

These days the rustic style varies quite a bit. It use to be more of a cabin vibe, but now you can have a French rustic feel as seen in picture (2), along with more modern or industrial rustic bathroom ideas and designs (3). The photos above and the notes below will try and cover the best way to infuse rustic decor and design into your bathroom.

Using Natural and Raw Materials: When designing a rustic bathroom you’ll want to try and infuse as much natural and raw materials as possible. Materials like stone, wood, brass, and for a more industrial design, concrete. In the photos above you can see sinks made out of stone, rustic vanities, doors and shelving made out of wood. The same materials are being used to create rustic backsplashes. Have a look at the post here for a backsplash that was made using an old wooden pallet.

For the Walls: Some ideas for the walls include more raw options like having polished concrete, stone, or painted brick. For a cleaner look check out our textured painting post. In that post you’ll find a whole bunch of ways to create a textured wall effect using paint – like how a dry brush can create a linen texture, or how a sponge can create a marble look. In that post, the pictures show a lot of colorful examples. For a more rustic look, go with natural hues – like dark green, brown, and grey.

Lighting and Accessories: When it comes to things like lighting, the go to choice would be wrought iron light fixtures. In terms of accessories, this goes back to finding items that are made from raw and natural materials. Like stone bowls, iron hooks, wooden mirrors and storage. Tuscan Kitchen Decor Ideas Mood Board

Tuscan Kitchen Decor Ideas

Rustic elements of nature are the key to a Tuscan style kitchen. To design a kitchen around this you want to have lots of wood and stone with accents of wrought iron. Here is a whole list of Tuscan interior design ideas:

Color Palette: As seen in the photos above, each kitchen has a base color on the walls. This base color will be an earth hue: terracotta/brick, a dark yellow/ochre/golden earthy yellow, or earth green colors.

The Ceiling: Just like in picture (1) having wooden beams fitted transforms the space. A simpler idea is to have the ceilings plastered to create a textured effect.

The Walls:  You’ll also want to have the walls textured (2). This can be done through rough plastering or using a technique called stucco (stone tiles is another idea). When it comes to the windows, wooden frames are ideal along with wooden blinds.

Floors: Stone tiling is the best choice for flooring (3). Other choices include terracotta tiles, clay tiles or hardwood flooring. Wooden base molding is a great finishing touch.

Kitchen Fixtures: To keep the Tuscan style flowing throughout the kitchen, look to use a copper hood (4), a porcelain or better yet a stone sink, and when it comes to the countertops the Tuscan way is to use marble (5). For the cabinets: dark brown wooden cabinet designs are the way to go (6) – with wrought iron handles/knobs.

Lighting: The go to style for Tuscan lighting is wrought iron light fixtures. This provides that rustic, earth feel. A 2-3 light bulb wrought iron chandelier or pendant light can be mixed together with more modern recessed lights for the perfect lighting layout. If you have a kitchen island, one lighting idea is to have a chandelier that doubles as a pots and pan rack as seen in picture (7). For more lighting ideas have a look at our post here: (Kitchen Lighting Ideas Mood Board and Inspiration).

Furniture: Use a long wooden family table to create an authentic Tuscan kitchen design setting (8). An alternative for smaller kitchens is to have a round wooden table. Wood, wood, wood – that’s what it’s all about. The same goes for the chairs – leather and wooden chairs.

Decor: Ceramics and pottery accessory pieces are ideal for creating the Tuscan kitchen decor style. There are also wrought iron accessories like wall letters, towel hooks or fruit baskets. Another idea is to hang up decorative copper pots and pans (9)1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9
