Here is a design tip from the Anthropology’s wallpaper department: “Love the print but can’t commit? Buy one wallpaper sheet and frame it – you’ll get the pattern pop without a room redo”. Anthropology is one great place to buy vintage style wallpaper designs – pictures (1) and (2) are from them. Wayfair is another place with a great selection (5 – 10).
The pictures above show some great wallpaper designs. You’ve got the more decorative and graphical designs like the botanical and bird prints – while some other ideas include a Chevron pattern as seen in picture (11) or even a lace design (12). Or if you want to create a feature wall in the kitchen or home office, how about using a wallpaper with an image of a vintage styled map (13).
In our bedroom wallpaper post we showed a 3D textured wallpaper (also known as anaglyptic paper) which can be left white or be painted over (14). This kind of wallpaper can also be used to decorate the ceiling (15).
You can always create your own DIY design on top of the wallpaper. But if you are going to do that, you’d might as well paint the whole wall first and save a ton of money. Some vintage style designs include French signs (16), a Chevron pattern, or a lace style pattern seen in picture (17).
