The Main Piece – The Crib
The biggest piece of furniture in the nursery room is going to be the crib, so this becomes the focal point in the room. If you can get a vintage styled crib then you’re halfway to creating the look – just like in pictures (1) and (2). Even if you can’t buy the right looking crib, you can easily customize a crib to a more vintage style by adding the right fabric pieces. In picture (3) the crib has been padded with pastel colored and frilly fabrics. Bedding with a botanical or bird print will blend right in with a vintage design style. Hanging a canopy over the bed will also look great (4).
Decorating With Furniture Pieces
When it comes to furniture pieces, like a dresser, pastel colored wooden pieces work best – just like the dresser in picture (5). In the same picture, wire baskets are being used as storage hangers. Other great looking storage ideas include glass jars and wicker baskets. Have a look at our post here for more vintage style storage ideas.
Vintage Lighting
Some ideas for light fixtures include pastel colored paper lanterns or fairy lights (6). Or how about a mini chandelier?
Decorating the Room With Vintage Style Wallpaper
Have a look at our post here for different vintage wallpaper styles. Or instead of wallpaper, use a light shade of pastel paint and get a vintage picture frame to hang up and display a piece of patterned wallpaper – just like the frame in picture (9).
